56th Children's October Salon
Role
Key Visuals · Layout Design
Founded in 1964, the Children’s October Salon is the oldest continuous museum manifestation dedicated to children’s creativity in visual and applied arts. For the 56th edition, themed “Play play play the game,” the identity draws from Cat’s Cradle, a traditional string game that balances creativity and skill.
Rather than relying on abstract references, the concept is grounded in a familiar gesture, capturing interaction, tension, and transformation in a single visual.
A vibrant palette and layered typography introduce rhythm and repetition, while a sense of playfulness keeps the system tactile and active.
The catalogue shifts into a more controlled environment, using a strict grid and typographic clarity to support reading, with subtle graphic interventions that reconnect it to the idea of play.
The result is a minimal, flexible identity that reflects how children create through rules, repetition, and continuous change.
